Getting the Easy Runs Wrong

Ever turned up for a run and felt like your legs didn’t get the memo? That’s what happens when you run too fast for all your training. The fix is to balance speedwork with easy and long runs so you’re fresh when it really counts.


Too Many Miles, Too Soon

Start with the number of runs that feels right for you. As you build up, stick to the golden rule: no more than a 10% increase per week. So if you’re running 30 miles now, keep it to 33 max next week. Sustainable, steady growth wins.


Ignoring Strength Training 

The reason your progress might be plateauing is if you’re skipping strength training. Strong muscles don’t just power your legs; they support every stride and help prevent injuries.
