Race Information

What is the date of the race?

Burj2Burj 2027 takes place at 06h30 on Sunday, 24 Jan 2027 - the perfect way to kick off your running season.

What time does the race start?

The race starts at 06h30, early enough to take advantage of Dubai's cool winter morning and giving you the best conditions on course.

What is the official race distance?

Burj2Burj is a certified half-marathon (21.1 km).

Is the course officially measured and certified?

YYes. The course is officially measured and certified by World Athletics.

Is there a time limit to complete the race?

Yes. The cut-off time is 3 hours from the official start time. Sweeper vehicles will collect runners at cut-off points along the course. Please respect the officials at these points; they're doing their jobs and keeping everyone safe.

Are there pacers available?

Yes, multiple pacers will be provided for each batch/pace, and details will be shared across our channels closer to the event.

Will there be km markers along the route?

Yes, every kilometre will be clearly marked with signage.

Is the course closed to traffic?

Yes. The route is closed to vehicles, with traffic management in place throughout.

Where is the start and finish line?

Route information will be shared as soon as the relevant approvals are received from our government partners.

Can I view the course map?

Yes. As soon as we announce the route, we will share all the relevant info (map, gpx file etc) across our channels.

Registration & Entry

What does it cost to enter?

You can find the current entry price here. Entries are limited, so get in early to secure the best price and guarantee your place at the start line.The sale will close once capacity is reached.

How do I register?

Online through our official website: www.burj2burj.com.

What’s included in the entry fee?

Your entry includes:

  • Official race bib with integrated timing chip
  • Event shirt
  • Finisher medal for every runner who crosses the line within the cut-off time
  • Race-day hydration at aid stations
  • Medical support on course and at the finish/li>

Can I register on race day?

No. Registration must be completed in advance. Race day entries are not available, and capacity is limited.

What is the minimum age to participate?

Participants must be 16 years or older on race day.

Is there only one distance?

Yes. Burj2Burj is a single-distance half-marathon event. No alternate distances are offered for 2027.

Transfers

Can I transfer my entry to someone else?

Yes, within the following windows:

  • Before 04 October 2026: AED 80 transfer fee (plus platform fees)
  • 05 October 2026 – 03 January 2027: AED 120 transfer fee (plus platform fees)
  • After 03 January 2027: No transfers permitted

Transfers are not available on group or partner entries. To initiate a transfer, log in to your Njuko Participant Dashboard and enter the email address of the person you'd like to transfer your entry to. They'll receive an email with instructions to accept the transfer.

Are there any restrictions on transfers?

Transfers are not available for group allocation, run club, partner, or complimentary entries. No transfers are permitted after the cut-off date.

Deferrals

Can I defer my entry to the following year?

ONLY for medical deferrals:

  • AED 80 deferral fee (plus platform fees)
  • Medical deferrals only — documentation required (see below)
  • From 03 Jan 2027: No deferrals under any circumstances

Deferred entries are valid for Burj2Burj 2028 only, and cannot be deferred again, refunded, or transferred.

What counts as a medical deferral, and what documentation do I need?

If you're unable to participate due to a medical condition, you can apply for a medical deferral. You'll need to submit an official medical certificate to team@worldsiconic.com. The certificate must be:

  • On clinic or hospital letterhead
  • Issued by a licensed medical practitioner, signed and stamped
  • Dated prior to race day
  • Include your full name (matching your registration), a statement that you are medically unfit to participate in endurance running, the date of examination, and your physician's name, licence number, and contact details

Diagnosis details are not required. All medical deferrals are subject to approval by our Management Committee, whose decision is final. The AED 80 fee applies.

Refunds

Do you offer refunds?

All entries are non-refundable under all circumstances, including injury, illness, travel disruption, or change of mind. Please see our Transfer and Deferral options above if you're unable to participate.

Race Pack & Bib Collection

When and where do I collect my race pack?

Bib collection will be at the Burj2Burj Expo from 21-23 Jan 2027. Location and times will be shared via our channels in the months before the event.

NO BIB, NO RUN. Marshals will remove people without bibs from the course.

Please note: There is no bib collection at the start. We cannot send bibs by post. Bibs will not be reprinted, so please take care of yours.

Can I collect my bib at the start (on race day)?

No. Bib collection is at the Burj2Burj Expo only. There is no collection at the start or anywhere on race morning.

What do I need to bring to collect my bib?

Your confirmation email or Entrant QR code (printed or digital) and a valid photo ID.

Can someone collect my race pack on my behalf?

Yes. They'll need a copy of their photo ID, a copy of your photo ID, and your confirmation email or Entrant QR code.

Can my bib be mailed to me?

Race packs and bibs must be collected in person. Mailing is not available.

Groups and Run Clubs

Do you offer group or corporate rates?

Yes. We offer discounts for groups. Payment is made upfront in full. Please note: there are no deferrals, transfers, or refunds on group entries, and each participant must collect their own bib at the Burj2Burj Expo.

Event Shirt, Medal & Finisher Items

Is a race shirt included?

Yes, all registered participants receive an event shirt.

Can I exchange my shirt for a different size?

No. Event shirts are made to order and exchanges are not permitted at bib collection. Please select your size carefully during registration.If you’re uncertain, we recommend sizing up.

Will all finishers receive a medal?

Yes. Every runner who crosses the finish line within the cut-off time receives a custom-designed Burj2Burj finisher medal.

Are there finisher photos?

We are finalising the details with our supplier, and an announcement will be made via our channels.

Will I receive a finisher certificate?

Yes. Your official time and a downloadable finisher certificate will be available online within 48 hours of the race.

Bibs Sharing

Can I let a friend use my bib if I can't race?

No. Bibs are strictly personal and non-transferable. Bib swapping is prohibited and treated as a serious breach of our T&Cs. It voids insurance coverage for the actual runner, creates medical emergency risk (race medical data is linked to the registered Participant), and corrupts the official results.

Both the registered Participant and the person using the bib will be disqualified and may be permanently banned from future events.

Training & Community

Do you offer training plans or coaching support?

Yes, free training plans and community runs are available leading up to race day.

Are there local training groups or runs I can join?

Yes! We partner with running communities and coaches across Dubai. Keep an eye on our social media for info and updates.

Can beginners sign up?

Absolutely. If you train consistently, the Burj2Burj course is a great goal for newer runners.

Elite & Competitive Runners

How do I qualify for elite entry?

Elite entries are by application only.

Are there cash prizes or awards?

Yes, cash prizes and trophies are awarded to the top 3 Elite male and female finishers. Age group awards will also be recognised with a unique medal. Know more here: Burj2Burj 2027 Prizes and Awards

Do you provide timing chips?

Yes, your race bib includes an integrated timing chip.

Payment & Policies

What is your cancellation policy?

All entries are non-refundable. Transfers are available before 03 January 2027. Deferrals are only available for medical reasons and are subject to management approvals.

Is there a race day info desk?

Yes, there will be on-site info booths at both the start and finish zones.

Course & Logistics

Are there aid/water stations on the route?

Yes. Hydration stations are positioned approximately every 2.5 km along the course, starting at the 5km mark, offering water and basic first aid.

Are there toilets on the course?

Yes. Portable toilets are available at the start, finish, and at every aid station.

Is medical support available?

Absolutely. Medical teams are stationed throughout the course and at the finish line.

Is the course suitable for first-time runners?

Yes! The course is mostly flat and well-suited to both experienced runners and first-timers with the right training.

Are headphones/earphones allowed?

Not prohibited - but we encourage runners to keep the volume low and stay aware of their surroundings.

Baggage & Transport

Is there a bag drop at the start?

No. There is no bag drop at the start. You can leave items in the charity bins at the start line.

Where is the bag drop?

Bag drop is at the Burj2Burj Expo. Collection is only on race day and there is no drop-off on race morning.

How do I get to the start line?

We recommend using a taxi or ride-share app. A full transport guide will be shared closer to race day.

Is there parking available?

There is, but it is limited. More information will be shared closer to the event.

Will the metro run early on race day?

We do not have the Metro confirmed for Burj2Burj 2027 yet but usually the Metro only opens at 8am on Sundays.

International Runners

Is Burj2Burj open to international participants?

Absolutely. We welcome runners from all over the world.

Are there travel or accommodation packages?

We will be providing packages for international runners and a list of recommended hotels. Keep an eye on our channels for announcements and updates.

What’s the weather typically like in Dubai in January?

January offers ideal running conditions, with early morning temperatures averaging 15–18°C and low humidity.

Is English spoken at the event?

Yes, all official communication, signage, and support is provided in English.

Supporters & Spectators

Can friends and family watch along the course?

Yes. There are many great viewing spots, especially near major landmarks and the final stretch.

Where are the best places to cheer?

We will release the Spectators' Guide a few weeks before the race.

Is the finish area open to spectators?

Yes, of course!

Are there official cheer zones?

Yes! Designated cheer zones are marked on the course map and feature music, entertainment, and MCs.

Media & PR

How do I get a media pass?

Email marketing@worldsiconic.com with your credentials and proposal.

I’m covering the event, can you share information or photos?

Yes, email marketing@worldsiconic.com with your article outline and needs.

Can content creators work with the event?

Yes, email marketing@worldsiconic.com with your profile, demographics and performance results, and proposal.

Can I bring my own production team?

No. You can submit a request to marketing@worldsiconic.com but no production teams will be permitted within the start chute, along the course or within the finish chute. Outside of these areas, you are responsible for securing any permits required from government entities. Burj2Burj event permits do not cover external teams.

How do I partner with Burj2Burj?

Do you accept in-kind or product partnerships?

Yes. If your product or service can enhance the participant or event experience, we'd love to explore an in-kind partnership. Categories include hydration, nutrition, wellness, fitness, and tech.

What exposure can partners expect?

Depending on your package: on-site branding, social and digital visibility, logo placement on race materials, and activation opportunities at the Expo — subject to availability and event alignment.

What is the Burj2Burj Expo?

The Burj2Burj Expo is a curated experience and marketplace open to all attendees and the public. It features a vibrant mix of wellness, lifestyle, fitness, and F&B vendors. It’s the perfect opportunity to showcase your brand to a highly engaged, health-conscious audience.

Who can apply to be a vendor?

We welcome local and global brands across the following categories: fitness gear, activewear, nutrition, skincare, wellness tech, recovery tools, artisan goods, healthy food and beverage, and more.

How can I apply to exhibit?

Email expo@worldsiconic.com — share details about your business, products, and booth preferences. A team member will follow up with availability and next steps.

Are food and beverage vendors allowed?

Yes — provided you meet local health and safety regulations and can supply any necessary permits. Preference is given to vendors offering healthy and sustainable options.
